Call for applications for the Youth Climate Action Fund 2025

The Office of the Lord Mayor of Kampala City launched the second round of the Youth Climate Action Fund, a program dedicated to empowering youth to take action against climate change.

With support from Bloomberg Philanthropies, the Youth Climate Action Fund program provides technical assistance and funding to cities, enabling them to engage thousands of young people in designing and implementing climate solutions from tree planting to policy making. In 2024, the program succeeded in Kampala, with 10 youth-led organizations delivering impressive results, including developing apps to monitor plastic pollution, restoring green spaces, and promoting climate education.

Building on this success, the program's second round will focus on even more ambitious and creative solutions, ensuring the long-term integration of youth engagement into city practices and routines.
