BRITAM EXTENDS KCCA FC SPONSORSHIP FOR THREE MORE YEARS

PUBLISHED — 10th, March 2026

The bond between KCCA FC and Britam Uganda Limited is set to grow even stronger after the insurance firm renewed its sponsorship of the club for another three years ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The extension builds on a partnership that began in July 2016 and has quietly become one of the most consistent corporate relationships in Ugandan football.

The renewed agreement will see Britam continue providing medical insurance cover for the club’s players, coaches and administrative staff, a benefit aimed at improving staff welfare and supporting the team’s performance.

Speaking at the announcement, on Tuesday at Britam Headquarters in Nakasero Sharifah Buzeki, executive director of the Kampala Capital City Authority, said the extension reflects a strong and enduring partnership.

“This three-year renewal is of great value to us. We do not just view Britam as a sponsor but as a committed partner concerned about the welfare of our players,” Buzeki said.

She noted that comprehensive medical insurance for a professional football team is costly and the support from Britam helps the club ensure players receive proper care when needed.

“We thank you for your commitment and we shall remain a committed partner as well,” she added.

Aidah Nkwanzi, CEO of Britam Life Assurance Uganda, said the partnership with the club has grown steadily over nearly a decade.

“Our partnership with KCCA is now about 10 years old and it is gratifying to see how it has grown,” Nkwanzi said.

She also commended the transformation taking place in Kampala, citing road construction, city beautification and improved order on city streets.

Britam, which has operated in Uganda since 2010, provides services in general insurance, life assurance and asset management. The company last year marked 60 years since its founding.

Nkwanzi said supporting KCCA FC aligns with Britam’s commitment to community development and youth empowerment.

“KCCA FC is a respected club with a strong legacy. We admire the role the club plays in nurturing young players whose dreams are coming true through football,” she said.

Eng. Andrew Sserunjoji, chairperson of the KCCA FC board, welcomed the renewal, saying the partnership has had a direct impact on the wellbeing of players.

“Our players have benefited greatly. When they are injured, they are able to receive proper treatment because of this partnership,” he said.

Britam officials present included Richard Mazune, head of business development at Britam Insurance Company Uganda Limited, and Peace Gakwaya, CEO of Britam Investments.

The renewed sponsorship ensures continued medical support for the club as it prepares for upcoming domestic and regional competitions.
