GUIDELINES FOR DISPLAY OF ELECTION CAMPAIGN TOOLS IN THE CAPITAL CITY

Advertisements are defined under the Physical Planning Act to mean any word, letter, device, model, sign, placard, board, notice or representation, whether illuminated or not, in the nature of and employed wholly or in part for the purpose of public communication. The Act also states that advertisements may include any hoarding or similar structure used or adapted for use for the display of the communication.

As such the display of election campaign posters is a form of advertisement envisaged within the definition in the Physical Planning Act as well as with Chapter 6 of the National Physical Planning Standards and Guidelines.
