Road to COP21
30th November 2015, Paris France
As the world takes a transition to the new development agenda of “sustainable development goals (SDGs) and as all countries look forward to an agreement on climate change action at the 21st session of the parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change COP21 in Paris – France, Kampala would like to position herself as a front runner in taking action. A new international agreement on climate change is expected to be reached applicable to all countries. KCCA will participate in the COP alongside the Government of Uganda to demonstrate what can be achieved when both national and subnational authorities work together to find solutions. The COP provides yet another excellent opportunity for Kampala to demonstrate the benefits of taking leadership and action at the local level. It is clear that national and global results can only be realized when subnational and particularly cities take action.
