GREATER KAMPALA LOCAL GOVERNMENTS MEET TO IDENTIFY ONGOING EFFORTS ON LAND-BASED FINANCING

From 16^th to 18^th November 2021, FMDV in partnership with the Kampala Capital City and UN-Habitat Global Land Tool Network organized a workshop on Land Based Financing and kick-off the next phase of preparatory work on the metropolitan capital investment planning. The event was not affected by the deadly bombings in Kampala, on 16th of November, and participants stayed committed throughout the engagement.

This workshop was convened with support of the Ministry of Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan Affairs (MoKCCMA). The Minister MoKCCMA, Hon. Kabanda Hajjat Minsa, opened the event and engaged the room of chairpersons, mayors, their deputies and accounting officers from the 9 LGs making the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area. The Mayors of Entebbe, Nansana and Makindye Ssabagabo as well as the deputy mayor of Kira called for more efforts in building effective partnerships.
