KISAKA HONORED BY ROTARY FOR EXEMPLARY SERVICE AS A CHAMPION OF HUMANITY

Dorothy Kisaka, the Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), has been awarded a prestigious honor by Rotary International in recognition of her exceptional efforts in improving the lives of vulnerable communities in Kampala.

The ceremony, held at a distinguished gathering on Tuesday, saw the Governor of District 9214 Peace Taremwa presenting Kisaka with Rotary International recognition, symbolizing her relentless efforts in fostering hope and positive change.

Governor Taremwa, accompanied by Rotary Governor Urz Herzog from Switzerland, Rotarian Ismeal Mukasa (the country Chairman of Rotary District 9214), and Rotarian Peter Kimbowa (the past assistant governor), highlighted Kisaka's remarkable dedication to improving lives.

"Today's function is to celebrate this one person who has made a great contribution to Rotary and humanity," remarked Taremwa, emphasizing Kisaka's pivotal role in making a tangible difference.

Taremwa lauded KCCA's collaboration with Rotary, highlighting projects such as supporting individuals in Namuwongo to produce briquettes and actively participating in initiatives like the cancer marathon.

"We still have people who can create a difference, and Kisaka has done a lot for Kampala," Taremwa said, emphasizing the power of collective action in fostering positive change.

Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Kisaka acknowledged the collaborative efforts between KCCA and Rotary that have significantly impacted communities.

"I'm delighted that our collective efforts at KCCA have been acknowledged and rewarded." Kisaka said.

She highlighted KCCA's commitment to caring for over 3 million people in the city and shared insights into KCCA's ongoing initiatives, including a reservation scheme where vulnerable individuals like youth, ghetto youths and women in the city have been given opportunities to earn.

"On behalf of KCCA, thank you very much," conveyed Kisaka

During the event, Rotarian Kimbowa underscored the essence of partnership between KCCA and Rotary in creating transformative opportunities.

"In Rotary, we create opportunities, we transform lives, and that is precisely what KCCA is doing," remarked Kimbowa, highlighting the symbiotic relationship between the two organizations in driving positive change.

KCCA's top management, present at the ceremony, expressed pride in Kisaka's accomplishments and reiterated their commitment to continue serving the community.
