KCCA Evicts Taxi Parks Vendors

Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA) enforcement officers with the help of the police have evicted all taxi parks vendors to create space for the proposed renovation.

The eviction exercise started in the wee hours of Thursday. The officers have removed all the stalls in the taxi parks and no vendor is allowed to carry on business.

The vendors were issued a issued the first warning about the eviction last year, reissued the warning in November and again 3 weeks back which means that the eviction did not take anyone by surprise. Tthe renovation of the taxi parks cannot go on when the park is still occupied by vendors.
