KCCA STAFF ENGAGEMENT REVITALISES COMMITMENT TO SMART CITY VISION

The mood at KCCA Sheraton Gardens on Friday was nothing short of vibrant as Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) staff gathered for an engaging and inspiring event. It was a Friday evening unlike any other, as the dedicated staff dressed in pristine white KCCA branded shirts and blouses, descended upon the venue, painting it white. The event marked the culmination of a series of city division staff meetings held last month, setting the stage for a grand gathering that would infuse new energy into the mission of KCCA. The atmosphere was electric, charged with a sense of camaraderie and shared vision as employees from all corners of the organization came together under one roof. At approximately 19:30, Dorothy Kisaka, the Executive Director of KCCA, took the stage, her presence commanding attention and respect. "We are here as a united KCCA team," she proclaimed, "to recommit ourselves to the vision of delivering a vibrant, attractive and a smart city, one built on quality services and innovation." Amidst cheers and applause, Kisaka highlighted some of the remarkable achievements of KCCA, ranging from garbage collection to the enhancement of markets, trade order, licensing, education, and health services across the city. She proudly spoke of the significant strides in revenue collection, the successful implementation of Project Development Management (PDM) in all parishes, and the impactful disbursement of sh9.7 billion of the funds to the PDM beneficiaries. Kisaka commended the National Resistance Movement (NRM) led by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the continued support towards the city development. "We all delivering on behalf of the NRM government and President Yoweri Museveni. We are working hand in hand to fulfill the NRM manifesto and propel Kampala towards greatness." Kisaka emphasized. Acknowledging the crucial role of city political leadership, Kisaka expressed gratitude to the Lord Mayor Erias Luwago and the entire team for their unwavering support in steering KCCA towards its smart city goals through favorable policies and effective oversight. The KCCA Deputy Executive Director, Engineer David Luyimbazi stressed the importance of servant leadership to deliver quality services to the people of Kampala. Grace Akullo, the Director of Administration and Human Resource, extended heartfelt appreciation to the ED for organizing such a memorable day, emphasizing the need to revitalize efforts, adhere to procedures, and strive for excellence in every endeavor. The Deputy Director of Public and Corporate Affairs, Simon Kasyate commended the management for organizing the event that not only celebrated achievements but also rejuvenated the staff to continue their mission of building a smarter, more vibrant Kampala. City leaders including the Deputy Resident City Commissioner of Central Division Doreen Kagabo Keita and the Mayor of Nakawa Division Paul Mugambe attended. Amidst laughter, camaraderie, and the infectious rhythms of music, the KCCA family dined together, danced with joy, and left the Sheraton Gardens with renewed vigor and passion to transform Kampala into a city that shines brightly on the global stage.
